It is hard to believe we are already half way trough October. I am usually in denial that we are getting closer to winter until at least Christmas. Despite all the prettiness that Autumn brings, and festivities of Christmas, I am more of a summer person and long winter months are not something I look forward to. With one exception....sweater knitting! As soon as it gets cooler I want to knit all the sweaters and keep stalking Ravelry for pattern ideas. Every year I end up with a list of at least 10 sweaters I want to knit (I'd be lucky if I can actually complete 2 or 3 during winter months!) but it still doesn't stop me from all the dreaming and planning. I have two sweaters on the needles at the moment, Pink Memories by Isabell Kraemer and Sweetheart by Linnea Ornstein.
I started pink memories last winter using our Alpaca DK yarn in Flutter colourway. It went into hibernation over summer because I wasn't happy with the length (I accidentally made it too long), after a long break and little unraveling and I am keen to pick it up again and finish the sleeves, if feels really soft and warm, and it will be a perfect layering piece over long sleeved t-shirts.
Over the weekend I added 11 new sweater patterns to my Ravelry library! I know, I know....I will never find time to knit them all this winter, but there is always next winter, and planning and dreaming and stash hunting, which is just as much fun as knitting.
Until next time..... happy sweater knitting!
